An In-Depth Introduction to Celebrity Chef Scott Conant

We previously reported that Kisses From Italy Inc. (OTCQB:KITL), a publicly listed U.S.-based company, restaurant chain operator, franchisor, and product distributor with locations in the United States, Canada and Europe, recently joined forces with Food Network Celebrity Chef, Scott Conant. You might have already seen him on TV or visited one of his restaurants, but we would like to provide an in-depth introduction to the iconic Italian Chef and what exactly he is bringing to the table… the dinner table, that is.

Let’s start at the beginning. Conant graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and according to his website, started building his reputation early by running the kitchens of prestigious spots in Italy including il Toscanaccio, Chianti and City Eatery.

Conant then opened up L’Impero in Manhattan which earned praise from several publications including a three-star review from The New York Times. Conant was then named a “Best New Chef” by Food & Wine in 2004 following his opening of an Italian restaurant in midtown Manhattan called Alto.

Then came Scarpetta. While no longer affiliated, Conant opened Scarpetta in NYC which was soon nominated by the James Beard Foundation in 2009 for “Best New Restaurants in America.” Conant then built the Scarpetta brand and developed and published The Scarpetta Cookbook inspired by beloved dishes from the restaurant. And while we are talking about cookbooks, we should mention Conant published the books New Italian Cooking, Bold Italian and Peace, Love, Pasta: Simple and Elegant Recipes from a Chef’s Home Kitchen. His fourth and most personal cookbook displays the parallels between his connection with food and his deep family relationships as well as recipes for the food he grew up eating and the meals he makes for the ones he loves today.

If you have not been lucky enough to visit one of his restaurants or make a meal from one of his cookbooks, maybe you have seen him critiquing contestants’ dishes as a judge on Food Network’s “Chopped.” Conant also played the role of host in a spinoff called “Chopped Sweets” and “Best Baker in America” as well as co-host of “Beat Bobby Flay.”

From the shared passions and visions, similar backgrounds and complete confidence, the partnership between the two looks extremely promising. Conant is joining a company that has proven to be strong, including maintaining a tight share structure while focusing on creating new value. To put this in perspective, less than 20% of Kisses From Italy’s outstanding shares are unrestricted.
